BUILT-IN BATH CABINET WITH FROSTED GLASS DOOR

Built-In Bath Cabinet - After Posted by Hello

This built-in bathroom cabinet was part of a complete master bath remodel. The owner was in need of additional storage space and did not want the clutter of traditional shelving options.

The wood inside the cabinet is oak luan and the trim is oak -- all wood was stained mahogany to match the new vanity/mirror/toilet seat. The oak door is attached with hidden hinges. The glass frosting was done with a $5 can of hobby paint - the word "Toilette" and fleur de lys were made from templates drawn from patterns found on the internet. The cabinet is 8" deep since the wall is structural (2x8's instead of 2x4's).

The large built-in cabinet (approx. 14" x 40") made up for storage lost from the removal of an old louvered medicine chest and a clunky vanity which were quite dated.

CHIMNEY RENOVATION

New Cedar Siding and Trim - After Posted by Hello The chimney was renovated to meet the community home owner regulations. After 25 years and many caulk jobs, the original faux brick and pine trim was replaced with cedar siding and trim. The cedar was painted with solid stain to match the building. The old chimney top - made of rusting tin - was taken down, wire brushed, primed with Rustoleum and reinstalled to save the owner an added replacement expense.

POWDER ROOM REMODEL

Powder Room - After Posted by Hello The new pedestal sink replaced an old oversized vanity and opened up a small space. The hardwood floor (not installed under the old vanity) was matched to the existing floor along with a new floor baseboard/shoe. The door inside the powder room was matched to an existing trim of plinth blocks/flutes/rosettes (pictured on outside of bath door frame). A new mirror, light fixture & dimmer, ceiling paint and wallpaper are the finishing touches.

FRONT ENTRY DOOR SPRUCE-UP

AFTERPosted by Picasa

This front entry door was sanded, freshly painted and all new Baldwin hardware was added. A worn looking lock and a dead bolt was replaced with a bright combined lock/deadbolt with a decorative back plate. A new kickplate and door knocker adds a finished upscale touch.

The hardware is warranteed with a lifetime finish and requires only a gentle wipe down with a damp cloth to keep clean.
